A Chthonian Sigil Spell
This enchantment is one of several methods for practicing effective sigil sorcery outlined in The Body Alchemy Grimoire. It is an adaptation of a potent formula presented by Austin Spare in The Zoetic Grimoire of Zos as:
"The autotelic wish into heterotelic conception is by consummation through using an urn of correct shape and dimension which must correlate nearly to that of the lingam used — so that there is sufficient vacuum. At the moment of orgasm the wish must be imperatively stated. After ejaculation seal the vase with your sigil and with the secret formula of your desire. Bury same at midnight, the moon being quartered. When the moon wanes, disinter and pour contents as libation into earth with suitable incantation, and re-bury same. This is the most formidable formula known, never fails and is dangerous — hence what is not written must be guessed.”
Spare's prose is equal parts obscure and ominous but the symbolism is instructive. The urn represents the womb: the generative, receptive feminine principle. The act of orgasm is the delivery of concentrated vital force — jing, mana, the most potent biological expression of energy — at the precise moment of maximum gnosis. The sealed urn buried in the earth enacts the delivery of the working into the subconscious proper — the underworld, in multiple mythological traditions, being the domain of what lives below conscious awareness. The moon timing entrains with natural cycles: the quartered waxing moon for planting, the waning phase for releasing the working as libation and re-interring the vessel. For all intents and purposes you are synchronising your desires with the forces of the natural world.
A PRACTICAL WORKING
The version of the rite presented here incorporates invocatory formulas associated with the Chthonian aspect of Dionysus. In the realm of Body Alchemy, he is an apt figure for men aiming to tap into more primal forms of erotic vitality, among other aspects. This is not exclusive; the formula can effectively be applied to any desire you can articulate precisely and is open to any gender.
The God — is a complex and enigmatic god frequently identified as Zagreus, god of ecstatic liberation, primal vitality, and the dissolution that precedes rebirth. Jake Stratton-Kent linked this aspect to the Verum spirit Frimost, both sharing a reputation for an aggressive, erotic sorcery: the same current surfaces in Quimbanda as Exu Quebra Galha, a wild, boundary-breaking force in similar territory.

Given that this rite involves lunar timing, making preparations is definitely appropriate. This includes fasting, cutting back on sleep, setting up the ritual space, and/or choosing an appropriate location. Additionally, the God is especially open to fumigations of resinous frankincense, as are the Bacchic Nymphs and Satyrs. Acknowledging that association the rite readily extends itself into Sabbatic group enchantment. Aspects of this are implied in the Zoetic Grimoire of Zos.
Below is an explicit description of the formula along with invocatory declarations.
1. Prepare a single, simple sigil representing one precise desire. Decide simultaneously on one visual image that embodies the desired state and one word that expresses it.
2. Acquire a vessel of appropriate dimensions. Pottery is traditional; purpose-made alternatives are now commercially available for obvious reasons. The vessel should be one you are prepared to bury and leave in the earth. Place the sigil inside the vessel/urn/sex toy.
3. At the moment of orgasm, visualise the image of your desire, and speak the word aloud.
4. Seal the vessel with the sigil. Bury at midnight when the moon is in the first quarter — waxing, approximately seven days after new moon. As you bury say:
Io Zagreus. Io Chthonios. Dionysos of the under-earth — twice-born, torn, and gathered whole again; you who go down into the house of Persephone your mother and rise when the ivy calls you, Lord of the loosened knot. Bromios of the bull's horn, serpent-crowned, Nyktelios who wakes in the dark, Eubouleus, whose good counsel ripens below all knowing — I give into your keeping a seed sealed in re, the living charge at its fullest, offered at the peak where force is most itself. Take it down as you were taken. Hold it in the black earth as the vine-root is held through winter, as the grain is kept in the furrow. What is buried in your name does not rot. It waits. Loosen it, ripen it, turn it in the dark toward its form. Io Euoi — so it is sown below; so let it rise above.
5. At the following waning moon, disinter the vessel. Pour the contents as libation into the earth with an invocation. This can also be mixed with wine or something symbolic of blood. Say:
"Liknites, cradled god, whom the winnowing-fan lifts out of sleep — awaken now, as the moon wanes and the vessel returns from the ground. What Persephone kept, release. What was seed, let be flesh. Rise through root and bone into the living body that called you. Io Bromios, Io Zagreus — come up, and bring my work with you."
6. Re-bury the vessel. The working is complete go do something else.
